DPS Bokaro Wins Inter-School Swimming Competition

swimingStudents of Delhi Public School won the Radha Krishnan Sahodaya Inter-School Swimming Competition 2018 in different categories held at Bokaro Steel City on Friday. The Swimming Competition held on the premises of DPS, Bokaro where students from seven schools of the district include Adarsh Vidya Mandir, Bokaro, The Pentecoastal Assembly School, Bokaro, D.A.V Public School, Sector 6 Bokaro, Crescent Public School, Bokaro, Mithila Academy Public School, Bokaro, Rukmini Devi Public School, Phusro and Delhi Public School, Bokaro have participated in various categories scheduled for students from different groups, school authority informed.

“The participants had many categories for this event both for individuals and teams. In the individual’s category they had 25 meters freestyle, 50 meters freestyle and 100 meters freestyle while for the teams they had 4 X 50 meters relay,” he added.

Among the girls from Group-1, Ausam Salam of DPS, Bokaro bagged the first position in 50 meters (Free Style) and Tanya Bhardwaj of DPS, Bokaro stood first in 100 meters (Free Style).

While from the boys in the same group, Yuvraj Singh of DPS, Bokaro got the first position in 50 meters (Free Style) and Om Sandilya of DPS, Bokaro was the first in 100 meters (Free Style) category.

For the Group–2, Travis Liu of Pentecostal Assembly School, Bokaro stood first in 50 meters (Free Style) and Renel Liu from the same school secured the first position in 100 meters (Free Style).

The Group– 3 girls got Shaili Priya and Anuska Yashi of DPS, Bokaro securing the first position in 50 metres and 25 metres while the boys from the same group received Raunak Srivastava of DPS, Bokaro at the first position in 25 metres (Free Style) and Aditya Singh of DPS, Bokaro getting the first position in 50 metres (Free Style).

The relay team of DPS, Bokaro with Aditya Sarraf, Anmol Abhiman, Saksham Kumar and Sahil Shekhar secured the top position. Delhi Public School, Bokaro has declared the overall champions for the event.

Director and Principal of DPS Bokaro Dr. Hemlata S Mohan appreciated all the Principals and teachers for training their students and making them capable of participating in such events. She also congratulated the winners along with the other participants for their sportive feats and suggested the children for more participation like this so that the children could ensure a complete growth of mind and body.

“Such participations prepare one to face life’s challenges without giving up”, she added.
