Bokaro reports first Corona positive case

Ashis Sinha I Bokaro: The first positive case of coronavirus infection has been reported in the Bokaro district on Sunday. She recently returned back after participating in the Jamaat congregation in Bangladesh.

Deputy Commissioner Bokaro said that sample of a woman tested positive of coronavirus infection. She is recently returned home from Bangladesh; now kept in isolation, he said.

Prem Ranjan SDO Bermo said, on 15 March three couples returned back to Chandrapura after participating in the Jamaat congregation held at Bangladesh. On 1 April administration identified them and after screening sent them to quarantine center at Chas. Later on 2 April samples of the three couples were sent for examination, which confirmed coronavirus infection in one person.

Over 4820 people rushed from outside of the district are kept in-home quarantine. Though administration identified over 300 people who rushed here from other different districts and were found hiding in their homes; all of them were sent to quarantine center, informed A K Patakh Civil Surgeon Bokaro.

After Ranchi and Hazaribagh she is the third corona patient found in Jharkhand. The woman is a resident of Telo village under Chandrapura police station of Bokaro district.

Deputy Commissioner Mukesh Kumar said, there is no such thing to be panic, the situation is under control. Health Department team is working, according to the history of contact with the woman. “Samples of other people will also be examined, if needed.”

A sample of the family members including children of the woman (infected) has also been sent for investigation and they were kept in the home quarantine at their home. The work of sanitizing the woman’s home and the surrounding areas is also going on, he said.

“People do not need to be afraid. People should cooperate with the government and district administration in defeating the global epidemic corona by following the lockdown norms.”

‘Stay indoors’ and ‘stay Safe’. Do not leave the house and strictly follow the order of lockdown, he urged.

Despite the coronavirus infection being declared an epidemic, some people ignore the request being made by the government. Kumar appealed to the mass to prevent this epidemic. “It is the duty of every citizen to be safe,” added DC.

The lockdown will continue until 14 April to prevent the spread of coronavirus infection. For the convenience of common people as well as food of daily wage earners, all necessary steps are being taken by the district administration.

“Administration is on alert to cartel the spread of COVID-19 infection,” he added.

About 246 rooms in different hotels across Chas and Bokaro were also turned into quarantine rooms. We have also acquired five schools and turned them each into 100-bed quarantine centers till further orders without any charges. Besides these all types of preparations and sufficient numbers of quarantines centers have been made, he informed.

“If more quarantine centers are needed, other schools can also be acquired,” added DC.

Bokaro General Hospital and KM Memorial Hospital and Research Center Private Limited, Chas has been declared as the nodal hospital for COVID-19.

If the case comes to notice, then the patient will be kept in isolation at BGH and KM Memorial Hospital, said DC.

Notably, the total number of coronavirus cases in India has surged to 3922. The novel COVID-19 has so far claimed more than 100 lives in the country. Fresh deaths were reported from Maharashtra, Gujarat, Punjab and Jammu and Kashmir on Sunday.
According to the Ministry of Health and Welfare, over 100 coronavirus patients have recovered from the disease. At present, there are over 1100 active COVID-19 cases in the country.
A total of 23 new COVID-19 patients was reported in Delhi. Kerala is the worst affected by the COVID-19 crisis with 194 cases and one death. The state has recorded the highest number of coronavirus infection in the country.
After Kerala, Maharashtra is the hardest-hit state which has 193 COVID-19 patients. With the two fresh deaths reported on Sunday, the death toll in the state has risen to eight.
Gujarat has recorded 58 cases and five deaths. Telangana has so far confirmed 69 cases while coronavirus count in Karnataka stands at 80. The number of coronavirus cases in Tamil Nadu has reached to 50. Rajasthan has so far reported 57 cases while Madhya Pradesh has 33 coronavirus positive patients. Haryana also confirmed 33 COVID-19 cases in the state.
