Cops crackdown against illegal Slaughterhouses

img-20170709-wa0080Bokaro district administration and police launched a crackdown on illegal slaughterhouses and banned meat shops on Sunday. Acting on a tip-off a team comprising of district administration officials and police, led by Chas SDO Satish Chandra conducted raids on different locations at Chas, Marafari, Balidih and sealed ten illegal slaughterhouses, informed Rai MP Ray, Deputy Commissioner of Bokaro.

One person has been arrested while six animals were seized during the raid.

Persons who were allegedly engaged in running illegal slaughterhouses have been identified as Md Hakim Parwez Sah, Jamu Sah, Sabir Sah, Md Sahid, Samshud Anshari, Rahim Anshari, Ashif Mallik, Zashin, Taj Mohammad, informed the DC. The police also conducted raids on Chand Hotel and Yashin Hotel under Marafari police station. A FIR has been lodged against Hakim Parwez and Jamu Sah, he said.

This was the first massive drive against illegal slaughterhouses in Bokaro. All these slaughterhouses were mostly said to dealing in beef which is banned by the State government, said an official. In the light of the directions from the government, prohibited meat in Bokaro district will not be allowed to be sold in any condition, said the official.
