Denied leave, a bank employee with oxygen support rushes to join work

Ashis Sinha I Bokaro: A bank employee on oxygen support rushed to his office along with his family members after being denied for extension of his leave (medical) by seniors of Punjab National Bank, Sector 4 branch at Bokaro Steel City in Jharkhand on Tuesday.

Arvind Kumar, a resident of Sector 2 at Bokaro Steel City rushed to PNB, Sector 4 branch, his workplace carrying an oxygen cylinder along with his family members.

Arvind was recently recovered from COVID-19. But his lungs are still infected and he is on oxygen support and under treatment at home. Doctors suggested him few more days to rest at home as he has severe breathing problems, said Raj his son.

Meanwhile, Arvind alleged that the bank officials are pressurizing him to join work. Despite giving leave applications repeatedly they did not consider my leave. “Even I have submitted my resignation but it was rejected. And my seniors started to threaten me to cut my salary,” said Arvind.

“There was no other option left (for me), it forced me to rush to bank on oxygen support along with my family to join my duty,” he added.

Later, bank officials asked Arvind to go home back, but they denied speaking on the issue.
