DPS Bokaro Alumni ranks 44th in UPSC, revisits school

dsc_5838DPS, Bokaro once again had a proud moment with three aspirants from the school cracked the Civil Services examination conducted by Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) this year.

 

The announcement of UPSC 2018 results brought great cheer to the DPS Family with Abhilasha Abhinav (2006-07 batch of DPS Bokaro) scored 18 Rank,  Abhilash Baranwal (2006-07 batch) 44 Rank and  Jai Kishan (2008-09 batch) with 768 rank qualified by their meritorious performance in this coveted civil services exam,” school authority informed.

 

Abhilash today visited his Alma mater and talked with the Class 12students. Sharing his experience he told to the students that ‘your goal of chasing the UPSC dream should not be based on reasons like fame or power, but it needs to be layered by strong conviction towards selfless service to humanity’.

 

‘As I came to DPS Bokaro for my 10+2, I gained confidence for dreaming big; cleared IIT and went into ISM Dhanbad then placed in Oil India Limited and came to Assam in 2011 itself’, he said.

 

“Coming to Assam has been the catalyst in my involvement in CSE preparation. I met people who were preparing and they encouraged me also to dive in,” added Abhilash.

Speaking about his education and his success Abhilash said, I always been a topper in academics and participated in debate and was very inquisitive and valued time.

 

He said Education, Health and Welfare of the senior citizens would be his priority. In his message to the young aspirants, he suggested to give 100 percent, do not compromise of honour and humility, and always be humble and respectful to elders. “Gratitude should be the Attitude,” he added.

 

DPS, Bokaro ensures a peaceful environment for study and helps the students in concentrated efforts, said Abhilash.  Making a special mention about Dr. Hemlata S Mohan the Director and Principal of DPS Bokaro, he said Madam empathizes with students’ problem and her guidance support was immense for all of us. 

 

Abhilash hails from Lalpania in Bokaro district of Jharkhand. His father is an Electrical Executive Engineer and mother is a housewife, elder brother is a mechanical engineer turned entrepreneur.

 

Expressing her happiness on the achievement of the DPS Bokaro students Dr. Mohan congratulated them and said, these results reflect the glory that merits National pride. These achievers have proved that with sheer determination, one can write their own success story. I am confident that these youth icons will serve society selflessly. They will be the trendsetters that we wish to see in our nation.
