DPS Chas student Aayush makes CBSE AGC-22 top 100 merit roll

JNS: Kumar Aayush of class X of DPS made his alma mater proud and brought laurels for the school as his name has been enlisted in the 100th position achiever’s list Patna region in the Aryabhata Ganit Clallenge 2022 released by CBSE on 1 March.

As part of celebrating Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav (India@75), CBSE organized Aryabhata Ganit Challenge (AGC)-2022 to enhance mathematical abilities among students. This challenge was available from 2nd November 2022 to 15th November 2022 and was conducted in two levels. Students from Classes VIII to X irrespective of the Board were eligible to participate in this challenge.

Level 1 being the School Level Competition which was conducted by the school in a pen-paper mode where around 150 students enthusiastically participated, among which three students of the school Aditi Shubham, Shivam Dubey and Kumar Aayush each of class X qualified for Level 2, which was the National Level Competition conducted by CBSE as Computer Based Challenge.

Questions on history of Mathematics were incorporated in the competition to check the awareness of students about the contribution of Indians in the field of Mathematics. Questions based on critical and logical thinking and out-of-the-box questions were also included to check the students’ critical thinking skills.

Dr. Hemlata S Mohan, the school’s Chief Mentor, congratulated Kumar Aayush recalled the purpose of the Aryabhata Ganit Challenge and said the exam is conducted by CBSE, which mainly focuses on the extent to which children can apply mathematics in their daily life. Participation in the examination helps children test their mathematics skills and become futuristic. It will help them to plan better career opportunities.

Deepali Bhuskute, the Officiating Principal of the school, conveyed her best wishes to the achiever and mentioned that more children must be encouraged for more such examinations. Such tests and assessments will help students keep their learning objectives high.
