IAF air strike in Pakistan, destroys terror camps

mirajJNS: Eleven days after the terror attack on CRPF convoy in Pulwama in Kashmir (killed 40 cops) the India Air Force conducted air strikes on terrorist camps in Pakistan.

Twelve Air Force’s Mirage 2000 severely bombarded at the Balakot, Muzaffarabad and Chakote at PoK and destroyed the hideouts of the Jaish-e-Mohammad terrorist group in the wee hours on Tuesday.

A large number (about 400) of terrorists, trainers, senior commanders and groups of jihadis who were being trained for fidayeen action were eliminated in this operation,” said Vijay Gokhale Foreign Secretary.

About 12 Mirage 2000 fighter aircraft of the IAF entered 60 kilometers inside form the LOC in Pakistan at 3.30 am; dropped one thousand kg of bombs in Balakot and Chakoti and Muzaffarabad.

In this attack, JeM militant camps were targeted. After the attack, the aircraft returned safely in the Indian border.

Prime Minister Narender Modi was up all night as he monitored the IAF operation, relaxing only after all the pilots returned safely home, government sources said.

He congratulated all those involved in the operation at around 4.30 am.
