India donates 1.8 million N95 masks to US

JNS: In a bid to help Philadelphia (US city) in its fight against Coronavirus, India has donated 1.8 million N95 masks.

According to the reports, the Mayor of Philadelphia, Jim Kenney had made a request to India for a supply of masks to be used by the city’s frontline workers.

On Friday, Indian Ambassador to the US, Taranjit Singh Sandhu, tweeted, “Philadelphia receives 1.8 million N95 masks from India to aid their fight against COVID-19.”

“Another example of the robust India-US reliable partnership in the health sector!” he added.

Notably, following the request of US President Donald Trump, India had also supplied an anti-malaria drug (hydroxychloroquine) which is seen as a possible cure for COVID-19, to the US earlier.
