MP Govt. imposes night curfew amidst Omicron scare

JNS: Taking preventive measures, the Madhya Pradesh government imposed night curfew from 11 PM to 5 AM on Thursday as the cases of Omicron variant continue to rise in many states. Notably, Madhya Pradesh has not registered any cases of Omicron variant yet.

Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan issued an order in this regard on Thursday which will continue till further orders.

This decision has been taken after the Union government advised states and UTs to not let their guard down and maintain their preparedness in the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic and to follow a five-fold strategy in view of the new variant Omicron.

The Health Ministry also advised states to impose night curfews and ensure strict regulation of large gatherings, especially ahead of the forthcoming festivities.
