VBU to hold National Seminar on Indian Tribes and inclusive development

Jharkhand MirrorThe Department of Anthropology of Vinoba Bhave University (VBU) Hazaribag is all set to hold two days seminar focusing on Indian Tribes and their inclusive development on 26 and 27 April.

At least 69 prominent anthropologists across the country will participate in the seminar which is scheduled to be organised at the university campus, informed Dr Ganga Nath Jha Organizing secretary and Head of Department of Anthropology VBU.

The purpose of this seminar titled— ‘Indian Tribes: Planning for Integrated and inclusive Development’ is to address the question and make recommendations for effective policy formulation and implementation to achieve integrated and inclusive tribal development, he said.

“Seminar would also draw attention on the broad themes of policies and programmes of tribal development and impact of development interventions on tribes in order to suggest measures for effective policy formulation”, Jha said.

Dr. Binay Kumar Srivastava from Delhi University, Dr Vijay Shankar Sahay from Allahabad University, Dr Malli Gandhi form Mysore, Dr MC Behra from North East, Dr Karma Oraon including another prominent anthropologist would be the speaker in the seminar, he informed.
