Bokaro: The 11th International Yoga Day was celebrated with great fervor and cultural pride at Chinmaya Vidyalaya, Bokaro. The event took place in the school’s Tejomayanand Auditorium, drawing participation from over 1,700 students and more than 100 teachers, who enthusiastically took part in a vibrant “Yoga Utsav.”
The program commenced with a soulful musical performance by the school’s music department, featuring songs centered around the theme of yoga. The inaugural lamp was lit by Principal Suraj Sharma, along with the Physical Education Department, marking the formal beginning of the celebrations.
Senior Physical Education teacher Harihar Pandey led a detailed demonstration of Surya Namaskar, highlighting its physical and spiritual benefits. Students Pranjal Sekiya and Sanjeev Kumar showcased various asanas and pranayamas, including Tadasana, Vajrasana, and Bhujangasana, encouraging students to embrace yoga as a daily habit.
In his address, Principal Suraj Sharma stated, “Today, the entire world is proudly observing the 11th International Yoga Day. Yoga not only ensures our physical and mental well-being but also promotes peace and harmony across societies. It’s essential that everyone, especially children, dedicate at least 30 minutes a day to yoga.”
School Secretary Mahesh Tripathi also addressed the gathering, emphasizing India’s pivotal role in taking yoga to the global stage. “Yoga is not just a physical exercise; it is a symbol of India’s cultural leadership. From being an ancient Indian tradition to gaining international recognition, yoga now unites people across borders,” he remarked.
The event was graced by Vice Principal Narmendra Kumar, Gopal Chandra Munshi, Rahul Roy, and several faculty members. Teachers including Ran Vijay Ojha, Lalita Oraon, Nitesh Pandey, Praveen Kumar, Vishal Morya, and Adarsh Acharya played a crucial role in ensuring the event’s success.
The entire program was smoothly anchored by Sanjeev Singh and Pranjal Sekiya. The celebration stood as a testament to the school’s commitment to promoting holistic well-being through the timeless wisdom of yoga.
