Patna: Prime Minister Narendra Modi laid the foundation stone and inaugurated multiple infrastructure projects across Bihar, reinforcing his push for connectivity, development, and women-led rural growth.
Among key highlights, he dedicated and launched several rail initiatives including the automatic signalling system between Samastipur–Bachhwara, doubling of Darbhanga–Thalwara and Samastipur–Rambhadrapur lines, and the ₹4,080 crore Darbhanga–Narkatiyaganj Doubling Project, set to boost North Bihar’s rail connectivity and freight movement. Modi also announced maintenance infrastructure for Vande Bharat trains at Patliputra and signalling upgrades on the Bhatni–Chhapra route.
On the roads front, he laid the foundation for the four-laning of Ara Bypass (NH-319) and inaugurated the Pararia–Mohania stretch, easing traffic and trade across Patna, Buxar, and Mohania. A two-lane paved road connecting Sarwan to Chakai (NH-333C) was also launched, linking Bihar to Jharkhand more efficiently.
In the digital sector, the PM inaugurated new Software Technology Parks of India (STPIs) in Darbhanga and Patna, designed to accelerate the IT, ESDM, and startup ecosystem in the state.

Four new AMRUT Bharat trains were flagged off from Patna, Motihari, Darbhanga, and Malda Town, further boosting regional rail connectivity to Delhi and Lucknow.
In a major push for women empowerment and rural livelihood, Modi released ₹400 crore to over 61,500 Self Help Groups (SHGs) under DAY-NRLM, and handed over Griha Pravesh keys to 12,000 beneficiaries. An additional ₹160 crore was distributed to 40,000 rural families under PM Awas Yojana-Gramin.
