Bokaro: Mithila Mahila Samiti, the women’s wing of the Mithila Cultural Council, hosted a vibrant Sawan Milan Samaroh on Thursday evening at the Vidyapati Auditorium of Mithila Academy Public School, Sector 4E. The event was a lively celebration of culture, camaraderie, and creativity, featuring music, competitions, and traditional festivity.
Women participated enthusiastically in various contests themed around the monsoon season. In the highlight ‘Siya Sundari’ contest, Babita claimed the top spot, followed by Ruchi Prerna and Bandana Jha. The ‘Daala Sajao’ (decorative platter) competition saw Vinita emerge as the winner, with Aparna Jha and Meera Rai securing the second and third positions respectively.
Other recognitions included Ritu Mishra as Best Personality, Alka Jha for Best Mehndi, and Poonam Jha for Best Song.
Committee President Poonam Mishra and Secretary Abha Jha felicitated the winners, applauding the participants for keeping Mithila’s cultural spirit alive. The event was graced by several notable members, including Sheela Mishra, Amita Jha, Kiran Mishra, Dr. Manju Jha, Seema Jha, and others, adding to the festive and familial atmosphere.
