PM Modi Flags Off Three Vande Bharat Trains, Inaugurates ₹22,800 Cr Metro Projects in Bengaluru

Bengaluru: Prime Minister Narendra Modi today flagged off three Vande Bharat Express trains — Bengaluru–Belagavi, Amritsar–Katra, and Nagpur–Pune — from KSR Railway Station, Bengaluru, while virtually inaugurating the other two routes. The high-speed trains, equipped with world-class amenities, promise faster, more comfortable travel across key routes.

The PM also inaugurated and laid foundation stones for Namma Metro projects worth around ₹22,800 crore, marking the launch of the third phase. Highlighting his vision of Viksit Bharat by 2047, Modi recalled India’s transformation from being among the “fragile 10” economies in 2014 to the world’s fifth-largest and fastest-growing economy today.

Making his first visit to Bengaluru after Operation Sindoor, Modi hailed the mission’s success in eliminating terrorist hideouts across the border and forcing Pakistan into retreat within hours — a feat he credited to India’s defence capabilities, technology, and Make in India strength.

In Nagpur, CM Devendra Fadnavis thanked the PM and Railway Minister for introducing the Nagpur–Pune Vande Bharat, now the longest Vande Bharat route in the country. In Jammu, LG Manoj Sinha welcomed the Amritsar–Katra service, calling it a boost for Vaishno Devi pilgrims and the local economy.
