New Delhi: India and Singapore on Thursday signed five landmark agreements spanning civil aviation, space, skill development, digital asset innovation, and a green-digital shipping corridor. The MoUs were exchanged following wide-ranging talks between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his Singaporean counterpart Lawrence Wong in New Delhi.

Highlighting Singapore as India’s “most important trade partner in Southeast Asia” and a key pillar of the Act East Policy, PM Modi said the partnership will increasingly focus on emerging technologies like AI, quantum computing, and digital innovation. He also stressed new areas of cooperation, including green shipping, nuclear energy, skilling, and urban water management. Both nations also agreed to fast-track reviews of the Comprehensive Economic Cooperation Agreement and ASEAN FTA to inject fresh momentum into trade.

On security, Modi reaffirmed that India and Singapore stand united against terrorism, thanking Wong’s government for its solidarity in the wake of the recent Pahalgam terror attack.
Singapore’s PM Wong underlined space as a new frontier for collaboration, noting that India has already launched over 20 Singapore-made satellites. He said the new MoU would expand cooperation in this sector, alongside deeper civil service and institutional exchanges.
Earlier, External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar met Wong and hailed his consistent support for strengthening ties.
The visit — marking 60 years of India-Singapore diplomatic relations — underscores the strategic depth of the partnership. Bilateral ties were elevated to a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership during Modi’s Singapore visit last year, and the latest agreements signal a sharper focus on regional stability and Indo-Pacific cooperation.
