Ranchi: Ahead of the 2026 Municipal (General) Elections in Jharkhand, the Jharkhand Academic Council (JAC) has rescheduled portions of the Class 11 and 12 board examinations to avoid clashes with polling and counting dates.

With voting set for February 23 and counting on February 27, the council issued a revised timetable to ensure students face minimal disruption amid heightened administrative activity and campaigning across the state.

Class 12 Exam Shifted

The Intermediate examination originally slated for February 23 will now be conducted on February 24, 2026, officials said, advising students to adjust preparations accordingly.

Revised Class 11 Schedule

Under Notification No. 11/2026, the Class 11 board exams will commence on February 25 with the following timetable:

  • Feb 25

    • 10:45 am–12:00 pm: Core Language (ENA/HNA) for Science & Commerce; HNB+MB for Arts/Science/Commerce

    • 2:00 pm–3:15 pm: Core Language (ENA/HNA) for Arts

  • Feb 26

    • 10:45 am–1:00 pm: Physics, Chemistry, Accounts & BST for Science/Commerce

    • 2:00 pm–5:15 pm: Optional subjects (1st–3rd) for Arts

  • Feb 28

    • 10:45 am–1:00 pm: Optional subjects (3rd–4th) for Science/Commerce

    • 2:00 pm–3:15 pm: Elective language for Arts

No Other Changes

The council clarified that all other provisions under Notification No. 03/2026 remain unchanged. The rescheduling aims to ease logistical challenges during the election period so students can reach exam centres without inconvenience.
