Congress Unveils First List of 42 Candidates for Assam Assembly Polls

News Desk: The Indian National Congress has released its first list of 42 candidates for the upcoming Assam Legislative Assembly election, marking a significant step in its campaign preparations for the high-stakes state contest.

Leading the list is Assam Pradesh Congress Committee chief Gaurav Gogoi, who has been fielded from the Jorhat Assembly constituency. His candidature is seen as a strategic move aimed at consolidating support in Upper Assam and energising the party cadre ahead of polling.
