News Desk: Celebrating World Forest Day with a green message, Sri Sri University hosted an engaging ‘Best Out of Waste’ workshop, jointly organized by its Eco Club and the Rover & Ranger Unit of Odisha State Bharat Scouts and Guides.
The event spotlighted environmental awareness, smart waste management, and the power of the 3Rs—Reduce, Reuse, Recycle. Former Additional PCCF Pandav Behera attended as chief guest, while noted environmentalist Satyabrata Samal, popularly known as Odisha’s “Climate Man,” joined as a key speaker.
Academicians including Dr. Sachchidananda Pradhan and Abinash Pattanaik shared thought-provoking insights on forest conservation, biodiversity, climate change, and the critical role of youth in shaping a sustainable future.
In his welcome address, DSW Dean Dr. Jayaprakash Bhatt underlined the indispensable role of forests in maintaining ecological balance and stressed the need for long-term sustainability aligned with global development goals.
The workshop came alive as students turned waste into utility, showcasing creativity through innovative recycled products.
The program concluded with a vote of thanks by Eco Club Chief Mentor Dr. Lopamudra Jena. The event’s success was driven by the dedicated efforts of Dr. Sandeep Raut, Prachi Mishra, SK Jishan Akhtar, and Dr. Kalyani Pradhan.
Vice Chancellor Prof. Tejpartap and Director Operations Swami Satyachaitanya applauded the organizers, while also acknowledging the support of the Centre for Environmental Studies and the State’s Forest, Environment and Climate Change Department in making the initiative a grand success.
