Ranchi: Emerging photographer Chandan Pal from Dhanbad made his district proud by clinching second place in the photojournalism category at the Jharkhand Imaging Expo 2026, held in Ranchi. The three-day national-level event concluded at the Harivansh Tana Bhagat Indoor Stadium in Khelgaon, drawing participation from photographers across the country.
In a highly competitive field, Shantanu from Kolkata bagged the top honour, while Peterson Baskey of Pakur secured third place. Chandan Pal’s compelling entry stood out for its strong visual narrative, earning him recognition from the jury. He was felicitated at the closing ceremony with a memento, certificate, and cash prize.
A seasoned professional, Chandan Pal runs “Chandan Studio” in Dhanbad and has been actively engaged in photography for several years. Known for his sharp eye in photojournalism and event coverage, his work often captures powerful social, cultural, and news-driven moments.
