Dumka: BJP MP Nishikant Dubey on Thursday levelled allegations against Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, claiming that foreign-linked networks were attempting to destabilise India through political mobilisation, cryptocurrency, Bitcoin, online gambling and other channels.
Addressing a press conference in Dumka, Jharkhand, the Godda MP alleged that opposition-led protests were part of a wider conspiracy to influence India’s political environment. He raised questions about Gandhi’s alleged links with US-born technology entrepreneur Neville Roy Singham and organisations associated with international activist networks.
Dubey Questions Rahul Gandhi’s Foreign Visits
Dubey questioned Gandhi’s overseas engagements and demanded greater scrutiny of his meetings with foreign political leaders and individuals associated with international organisations. He claimed that Gandhi had travelled abroad around 270 times over the past decade and sought clarification on the purpose of these visits.

The BJP MP also questioned whether individuals linked to the alleged networks had participated in Gandhi’s Bharat Jodo Yatra or other Congress programmes. He argued that the nature of these interactions and the sources of funding for associated activities warranted investigation.
Neville Roy Singham and the Foreign Funding Controversy
Singham, an American-born technology entrepreneur and founder of software consultancy Thoughtworks, has attracted scrutiny over his financial associations with organisations involved in political advocacy and media activities. His name has also figured in the Indian authorities’ investigation involving news portal NewsClick.
Authorities had alleged that foreign funds associated with entities linked to Singham were channelled to NewsClick. The portal has denied wrongdoing and contested the allegations. In May 2024, the Supreme Court ordered the release of NewsClick founder-editor Prabir Purkayastha after finding that his arrest was invalid because the grounds of arrest had not been communicated as required by law.

Bitcoin, Cryptocurrency and Online Gambling
Dubey also brought Bitcoin, cryptocurrency, artificial intelligence and online gambling into the debate, alleging that financial and technology-driven networks could be used to facilitate activities aimed at creating political instability.
He called for scrutiny of possible links between international organisations, funding channels and political mobilisation. However, no publicly established evidence presented in the allegations has demonstrated that cryptocurrency or online gambling operations were being used by Gandhi or the Congress to finance a conspiracy against India.

Allegations of a Wider International Network
The BJP MP’s remarks come amid a broader debate over foreign funding, international advocacy groups and their involvement in political campaigns and protests across countries. The issue has attracted attention from political parties, investigative agencies and media organisations.
Dubey alleged that networks operating across national borders were influencing political developments and protest movements.
