Ranchi: In a remarkable year of achievements, the Jharkhand State Sports Promotion Society (JSSPS) has gained national and international recognition in 2025. The players of JSSPS excelled in several major sports events, showcasing their talent and dedication. Seven players participated in the 38th National Games held in Uttarakhand from January 28 to February 14, winning two bronze medals in Modern Pentathlon.
In cycling, three JSSPS athletes earned the honor of representing India at the Track Asian Championship 2025 in Malaysia from February 21 to 27. Additionally, two footballers were selected for the Indian team at the Pink Ladies U-20 Youth Cup in Turkey, held from February 19 to 25.
JSSPS players also triumphed at the 40th Senior National Taekwondo Championship in Hyderabad, securing three gold medals.
In the Asmita Khelo India Weightlifting Championship, they earned two silver and one bronze medal.
JSSPS stadiums also hosted national and state-level events in February 2025, including the State Karate Tournament and the National Men’s Handball Championship, with over 600 athletes participating in total.
To enhance security and streamline operations, JSSPS introduced a new action plan that requires entry registration for all visitors, alongside plans for issuing ID cards. Additionally, the “Pay and Play” system will be fully digitized to ensure transparency.
The organization is also focusing on improving the campus environment by planting medicinal plants and beautifying the space with flowers. A priority is also set to repair parts of the 200-acre campus’s boundary wall.
JSSPS, an ambitious CSR initiative of Central Coalfields Limited (CCL), is committed to developing Jharkhand’s young athletes and providing world-class facilities to help them succeed on the national and international stage. Under the leadership of CCL CMD Nilendu Kumar Singh, JSSPS continues to foster growth in sports and beyond.
