Ahmedabad: In a bold bet on the future of artificial intelligence, the Adani Group has announced a staggering USD 100 billion investment to build renewable-energy-driven, hyperscale AI-ready data centres by 2035—one of the largest integrated energy-and-compute plays globally.

The sweeping initiative aims to create a sovereign energy-compute backbone that could propel India into the front ranks of the fast-evolving Intelligence Revolution.

The conglomerate estimates the move will unlock an additional USD 150 billion in downstream investments across server manufacturing, advanced electrical infrastructure, sovereign cloud ecosystems and allied sectors. If realised, the combined push could shape a USD 250 billion AI infrastructure ecosystem in India over the next decade.

Calling the moment transformational, Adani Group Chairman Gautam Adani said the world is entering a new technological epoch.

“The Intelligence Revolution will be more profound than any Industrial Revolution before it. Nations that master the convergence of energy and compute will define the future—and India is uniquely positioned to lead,” he said.

Adani stressed the Group is scaling beyond its green energy and data centre base to build a comprehensive five-layer AI stack anchored in technological sovereignty.

“India will not be just a consumer in the AI age. We will be the creators, the builders and the exporters of intelligence,” he asserted.

The roadmap expands AdaniConnex’s existing 2 GW national data centre capacity toward an ambitious 5 GW target—potentially placing India at the epicentre of the global AI economy.

The strategy is being powered by heavyweight partnerships. The Group is collaborating with Google to develop the country’s largest gigawatt-scale AI data centre campus in Visakhapatnam, alongside additional facilities planned in Noida. Parallel engagements with Microsoft span Hyderabad and Pune.

Adani Group is also in active discussions with other global technology majors to establish large-scale AI campuses across India, strengthening its pitch to become the country’s premier AI infrastructure partner.

Further deepening its digital commerce footprint, the Group will expand its partnership with Flipkart to build a second purpose-built AI data centre designed for next-generation e-commerce, high-performance computing and large-scale AI workloads.

With green energy and compute power converging at scale, Adani’s $100 billion wager signals India’s accelerating march toward AI superpower status.
