JNS: Faridabad-based Al-Falah University is facing its biggest institutional crisis yet, with regulators and investigators closing in after three of its doctors were linked to the deadly Red Fort blast that killed 13 people earlier this week.
AIU Revokes Membership, Cites ‘Not in Good Standing’
The Association of Indian Universities (AIU) on Thursday suspended the university’s membership, stating that the institution no longer meets the association’s criteria for being in “good standing.”
In a letter to Vice-Chancellor Prof. Bhupinder Kaur Anand, AIU Secretary Pankaj Mittal ordered the immediate removal of the AIU name and logo from all university materials.

NAAC Issues Show-Cause Notice Over ‘Misleading Accreditation’
Adding to its troubles, the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) has served a show-cause notice, accusing Al-Falah of misleading the public by claiming accreditation that had either expired or was never valid.
The university’s website went offline soon after the notice surfaced. NAAC has demanded an explanation on why legal action should not follow for the alleged violation.
Founder’s Corporate Network Under Scanner
Security agencies are now examining the role of Javed Ahmed Siddiqui, the founder and managing trustee of Al-Falah. Probe teams discovered Siddiqui is linked to nine companies operating from the same address, all connected through the Al-Falah Charitable Trust.
Sources say Siddiqui also faces an old criminal case related to cheating, criminal conspiracy, and using forged documents. The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has already begun looking into suspected funding irregularities involving the trust.
Blast That Shook Old Delhi
The caution from regulators comes even as investigators continue probing Monday’s massive explosion near Gate No. 1 of Red Fort Metro Station—a high-security stretch near the Gauri Shankar and Jain temples.
A Hyundai i20 carrying three men went up in flames around 6:52 pm, killing at least 13 people. Authorities believe the car was driven by Dr Umar Mohammad, reportedly part of a sophisticated “white-collar terror network.”
Two other suspects—Dr Shaheen Saeed and Dr Mujammil Shakeel—were faculty members at Al-Falah, triggering the sweeping scrutiny of the university, its governance, and its financial ecosystem.
‘Baseless and Defamatory,’ Says VC
Breaking her silence, Vice-Chancellor Prof. Bhupinder Kaur Anand said the university had no institutional role in the alleged activities of the accused doctors.
“The University has no connection with the said persons apart from them working in their official capacities,” she said, terming the allegations “false, defamatory and deeply distressing.”
She also rejected claims that chemicals or weapons were stored on campus:
“No such chemicals or materials are used, stored, or handled within the University premises. Our labs are used solely for academic and training purposes.”
The university, she said, is fully cooperating with all investigative agencies.
The coming days will be crucial for Al-Falah University. With AIU suspending its membership, NAAC questioning its accreditation claims, and central agencies digging into its finances and leadership, the institution faces a deepening crisis that extends far beyond academia.
