Electing to field first, India managed to restrict Pakistan to 171/5 in 20 overs. Fakhar Zaman was dismissed early for 15, while Farhan’s aggressive 58 off 34 balls anchored the innings. Contributions from Saim Ayub (21), Nawaz (21), and a late flourish by Faheem Ashraf (20*) couldn’t prevent India from keeping Pakistan under check. Shivam Dube took two wickets, with Hardik Pandya and Kuldeep Yadav claiming one each.
In reply, India’s openers Abhishek Sharma (74) and Tilak Verma (30)**, backed by Shubman Gill (47), tore through the Pakistani bowling attack with a 105-run partnership off just 59 balls. Although Sanju Samson (13) and Suryakumar Yadav (0) fell cheaply, India cruised to victory at 174/4 in 18.5 overs, with Hardik Pandya (7) remaining unbeaten alongside Tilak, who sealed the chase in style.
With this emphatic triumph, India now lead the Super 4 standings, ahead of Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, and Pakistan. India will next face Bangladesh on September 24, while Pakistan take on Sri Lanka a day earlier.
