New Delhi: In a bold declaration, Baloch representative Mir Yar Baloch on Wednesday announced the formal separation of Balochistan from Pakistan, citing decades of brutal oppression, human rights violations, and forced disappearances at the hands of the Pakistani military and police.
Taking to social media, Mir Yar made a passionate appeal to the international community, Indian citizens, and the media, calling for support to the Baloch independence movement and demanding recognition for Balochistan as a sovereign nation.
“You will kill us, we will leave. We have risen to save our identity. The world must no longer be a silent spectator,” he posted. “The Baloch rebellion is real. It’s happening on the streets of Pakistan-occupied Balochistan. We are not Pakistanis — in Pakistan, only Punjabis are safe. They’ve never seen genocide, bombings, or disappearances like we have.”
Mir Yar also criticized Pakistan’s narrative on Kashmir, supporting India’s stance on Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK). He accused Pakistan of using PoK civilians as human shields and demanded international pressure on Islamabad to vacate the illegally occupied territory.
Backing India’s recent Operation Sindoor, he drew parallels to the 1971 surrender of 90,000 Pakistani soldiers, warning that history may repeat itself if Pakistan continues its repressive tactics.
The statement follows heightened tensions between India and Pakistan after Pakistani-backed terrorists killed 26 civilians in Jammu & Kashmir’s Pahalgam on April 22. India responded with a decisive military strike on May 6–7, targeting terror camps deep inside Pakistan and PoK, reportedly eliminating over 100 terrorists. Media reports suggest India’s strikes damaged up to 20% of Pakistan’s Air Force infrastructure, including key fighter jet assets.
Mir Yar Baloch has called on India and the world to recognize the Baloch struggle and reject Pakistan’s claims over Balochistan, alleging that the province was forcibly annexed with the help of foreign powers. He emphasized that Balochistan continues to suffer under martial law-like conditions, where activists and dissenters are abducted, tortured, or killed without due process.
His message has struck a chord among human rights observers and analysts who view it as a significant development in the long-standing Baloch freedom movement — one that could influence regional geopolitics as calls grow louder for Balochistan’s independence and global intervention.
