BIT Mesra Hosts Machine Learning Sessions in Faculty Development Program

Ranchi: Two engaging technical sessions were held on the fourth day of the ongoing Faculty Development Program at BIT Mesra, Lalpur Extension, focusing on the growing impact of machine learning in business and digital ecosystems.

The first session featured Dr. Vandana Bhattacharya, Head and Professor, Centre for Quantitative Economics and Data Science, who delivered a talk on “Machine Learning: Revolutionizing Digital Business Transformation.” She highlighted how machine learning is reshaping modern business operations and decision-making processes.

In the second session, Dr. Abhijeet Mustafi, Head of the Computer Science and Engineering Department, presented a lecture on “A Machine Learning-Based Method for Analysis and Prediction of Social Media Data.” He discussed how machine learning can analyze user behavior and predict trends through social media datasets.

The program witnessed active participation under the guidance of Dr. Pranab Kumar, Faculty In-Charge. The sessions were coordinated seamlessly by Dr. Amrita Priyam and Dr. Mahua Banerjee, while volunteers Shivangi Tiwari, Srishti Pushkar, Anubrata Sarkar, and Rohit Kumar were appreciated for their commendable support.

As part of the program’s industrial exposure, participants will visit the CMPDI headquarters on July 25.
