Bokaro Deputy Commissioner Bats for Cultural and Literary Revival with Mithila Council Support

Bokaro: The newly appointed Deputy Commissioner of Bokaro, Ajaynath Jha, emphasized the importance of community participation in revitalizing the district’s literary and cultural vibrancy.

In an interaction with members of the Mithila Sanskritik Parishad on Tuesday, Jha stated that Bokaro—renowned not only as a leading steel city but also as a hub of intellectual activity—deserves a cultural revival to match its industrial stature.

The delegation from the Mithila Sanskritik Parishad, a respected socio-cultural organization in Bokaro, extended a traditional Maithil welcome to the Deputy Commissioner.

The ceremony included presenting him with a bouquet and adorning him with a paag (turban) and angavastram (dupatta), symbolizing Maithil hospitality and respect. The delegation lauded Mr. Jha’s reputation for grassroots engagement and his commitment to preserving and promoting local cultural heritage.

Expressing their appreciation, Parishad members highlighted Jha’s proactive administrative style and his dedication to village-level outreach and problem-solving. They commended his vision of restoring Bokaro’s lost artistic and literary prestige and pledged their full cooperation in this mission.

During the meeting, DC underscored the need for inclusive participation from all communities, including the Mithila diaspora, to reignite Bokaro’s socio-cultural dynamism. “Cultural and literary richness is not just a reflection of our heritage but a cornerstone of holistic development,” he said.

He further noted that Chief Minister Hemant Soren, a native of Bokaro, is equally invested in the cultural upliftment of the district and supports initiatives that promote art, culture, and literature.

The Deputy Commissioner assured the council of his full support in taking forward cultural initiatives across the region.

Among the council members present were Coordinator Rajendra Kumar, Board Members Vijay Kumar Jha, Council President Jaiprakash Chaudhari, General Secretary Neeraj Chaudhari, along with Mihir Kumar Jha, Avinash Jha, Dilip Kumar Jha, Arun Pathak, Aman Kumar Jha, and Vijay Shankar Mallick.
