Bokaro: Bokaro Steel Plant (BSL) is making strides toward enhancing healthcare services in Bokaro with plans to establish a state-of-the-art Super Specialty Unit at Bokaro General Hospital (BGH).
The proposed 150-bed facility is expected to provide advanced medical care across several super-specialty disciplines, including Cardiology, Cardiothoracic Surgery (CTVS), Neurology, Oncology, Oncosurgery, Nephrology, Urology, Gastroenterology, Endocrinology, and Critical Care.
To explore the feasibility of this project, BSL has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with M/s HSCC India Limited, a Government of India Enterprise, marking a significant step in enhancing BGH’s healthcare offerings.
The MoU was signed on Monday in the presence of BSL’s Director-in-Charge Birendra Kumar Tiwari and key officials, including Executive Director, Chief General Manager, BSL, Dr. B B Karunamay, and Chief Medical Officer-in-Charge of BGH, along with representatives from HSCC India Limited.
The collaboration aims to construct, develop, and operate a cutting-edge Super Specialty Hospital within the BGH campus, further strengthening BSL’s commitment to improving medical services for both its workforce and the wider community of Bokaro and surrounding areas. M/s HSCC India Limited, a prominent entity known for its expertise in healthcare infrastructure, will play a key role in this initiative.
As part of the first phase of the MoU, HSCC India Limited will develop a Detailed Project Report (DPR) that includes a concept plan and preliminary estimates. Additionally, HSCC will provide details of shortlisted Operations & Maintenance (O&M) partners along with a financial model, which will be reviewed by BSL.
Only after the successful completion of the first phase will the second phase proceed, which involves the engagement of Design, Construction, and O&M partners.
This project represents a major investment in Bokaro’s healthcare infrastructure, meeting the growing demand for specialized medical treatment in the region.
