Ranchi: To counter the rising wave of cyber fraud and AI-driven digital threats targeting Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs), BSNL Jharkhand in association with CyberPeace convened a high-impact National Youth AI Cyber Suraksha programme in Ranchi.
The event was held in the presence of Sanjay Seth, Minister of State for Defence, Government of India, and focused on strengthening cyber safety, enhancing AI risk awareness, and preventing cyber fraud among youth, traders and MSMEs across Jharkhand.
Addressing the gathering, Seth said cybercrime today poses a serious threat to economic and national security, stressing the need to empower communities with cyber hygiene and reporting mechanisms. He underlined the importance of expanding cyber awareness initiatives to the grassroots level through collaboration between government, telecom institutions and civil society.
Vineet Kumar, Founder and Global President of CyberPeace, lauded BSNL’s initiative, calling cyber safety a social and economic necessity, especially for Tier-II and Tier-III regions where digital adoption is rising faster than cyber preparedness.
The programme highlighted how MSMEs—often lacking dedicated cybersecurity resources—are increasingly vulnerable to phishing, ransomware, impersonation scams and AI-enabled fraud. An expert session by Vipul Agarwal emphasised the role of secure telecom infrastructure, digital hygiene and safe internet practices in mitigating cyber risks.
Interactive discussions allowed MSME participants to share real-life cyber fraud experiences, helping experts explain common attack patterns and prevention strategies. The programme concluded with practical guidance on cyber hygiene, secure use of AI tools, data protection, early threat detection and first-response actions during cyber incidents, reinforcing the need for collective vigilance in building a safer digital ecosystem.
