Ranchi: In a landmark move towards gender equality and women empowerment, Central Coalfields Limited (CCL) has transformed its Rajendra Nagar Dispensary into a facility fully operated by women. The initiative, launched on July 22, marks a first-of-its-kind step in the coal sector, with the dispensary now staffed entirely by women doctors, medical professionals, and support staff.
The initiative was formally inaugurated by CCL Chairman-cum-Managing Director Shri Nilendu Kumar Singh, who lauded the all-women team for their leadership and commitment. He interacted with the staff, took feedback for smooth operations, and assured full support for the initiative.
Led by Dr. Neha Agarwal, the team includes Dr. Payal Mishra, Aradhana Birua, and several other dedicated professionals. The dispensary currently offers OPD services, pharmacy, and a dressing room, all managed exclusively by women.
Director (Human Resources) Shri Harsh Nath Mishra, who was present at the inauguration, called the initiative a significant stride in fostering women leadership within the coal industry.
The event began with the ceremonial lighting of the lamp and unveiling of a plaque. Senior officials, including CMS Dr. Ratnesh Jain, Dr. Bharat Singh, Dr. Deepali, and others attended the occasion.
This progressive step by CCL is expected to set a powerful precedent for gender-inclusive workspaces in traditionally male-dominated sectors like mining and coal.
