Suspect in Focus
New surveillance images show a young male wearing a baseball cap, sunglasses, and a shirt printed with the American flag. The individual was captured in a stairwell of a building near the event venue. These images are being widely circulated as authorities urge the public to help identify the suspect.
$100,000 Reward for Information
The FBI has announced a $100,000 reward for information that leads to the identification and arrest of those responsible.

The Tragic Killing of Charlie Kirk
The 31-year-old conservative leader was fatally shot by a single bullet to the neck while addressing students at an outdoor “Prove Me Wrong” event. Kirk was a major figure in American conservative politics, known for mobilizing young voters in support of Donald Trump and promoting right-wing causes.
Who Was Charlie Kirk?
At just 18, Kirk co-founded Turning Point USA, focused on promoting conservative values on college campuses. An early supporter of Donald Trump’s 2016 campaign, Kirk transformed his organization into a key player in right-wing activism. He worked as a personal aide to Donald Trump Jr during the general election and became a frequent face on cable news, discussing culture wars and supporting Trump’s policies.
In 2019, Kirk established Turning Point Action, a non-profit campaigning for conservative candidates. His outspoken support of Trump’s Make America Great Again (MAGA) movement included endorsing the false claim that widespread voter fraud denied Trump victory in the 2020 election.

Kirk’s controversial remarks about Indian migrants have resurfaced in the wake of the Utah tragedy. On September 2, he posted on X:
“America does not need more visas for people from India. Perhaps no form of legal immigration has so displaced American workers as those from India. Enough already. We’re full. Let’s finally put our own people first.”
His comments were in reaction to Fox News anchor Laura Ingraham’s statement that a US-India trade deal might involve granting more visas, to which Kirk responded:
“I’d rather not pay them in visas and trade deficits.”
On September 5, he tweeted:
“President Trump is reportedly considering blocking American tech companies from outsourcing their work to Indian companies. Good. Invest in this country first. Hire American companies and American workers.”
Further, without evidence, Kirk claimed that large social media accounts attacking Trump’s India tariffs were being paid to “peddle this trash from the Indian government.”

Weapon Recovery and Investigation Update
A high-powered bolt-action rifle was recovered in a wooded area near the scene and is undergoing forensic analysis by FBI experts. Authorities stated that the weapon reportedly contains unique inscriptions and symbols, but they are not confirming the authenticity of circulating photos.
FBI Director Kash Patel confirmed that a person previously detained in connection to the case has since been released following interrogation.
