Bokaro: Damodar Valley Corporation (DVC) marked its 78th Foundation Day with great enthusiasm and ceremonial spirit at its Chandrapura Thermal Power Station. The event was celebrated at Srijan Park with a series of programs showcasing DVC’s legacy and commitment to nation-building.
The celebrations commenced with the ceremonial hoisting of the DVC flag by Avijit Ghosh, Senior General Manager and Project Head In-Charge, who also paid tribute to the corporation’s enduring contribution to India’s energy sector.
A large gathering of senior officials, including Senior GM (HR) Dr. D.C. Pandey, Deputy General Managers Lalan Prasad Gupta, Rajiv Kumar, Satyendra Kumar, and others like Mohammad Imtiaz, Sanjeev Kumar, Parvind Kumar, and several DVC employees, participated in the celebration. Personnel from the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) also attended the event, underlining the collaborative efforts behind DVC’s functioning.
A special highlight of the day was the felicitation of meritorious students from the DVC +2 School. Pankaj Kumar Pandey (Shreyaskar), an IAS officer and alumnus of the school, honored the toppers – Satyam Kumar Singh, Afreen Parveen, Vikas Kumar, and Poonam Kumari – during the Late Upendra Narayan Pandey Memorial Award Ceremony held on campus.
In his address, Shreyaskar expressed heartfelt gratitude towards DVC and his alma mater, crediting the institution for shaping his journey into the Indian Administrative Service. He described the school as a beacon of excellence, stating, “The future of this institution will be etched in golden letters,” and lauded DVC’s significant role in India’s development.
The event also featured speeches by dignitaries including Chanda Shukla and Pradeep Kumar Srivastava.
The celebrations reflected the pride and legacy of DVC, reaffirming its continued commitment to educational and infrastructural growth alongside its core mission of power generation.
