ESL Steel Opens Two New Learning Centres Under Project Shiksha

Bokaro: In a major push towards rural education, ESL Steel Ltd., in collaboration with the American India Foundation (AIF), inaugurated two new Learning Resource Centres (LRCs) in Dhandabar and Siyaljori villages of Jharkhand under its rebranded educational initiative, Project Shiksha.

Formerly known as Project Prerna, the revamped Project Shiksha aims to revolutionize education in rural communities by providing inclusive and holistic learning opportunities. The newly opened LRCs serve as one-stop educational hubs, offering Early Childhood Education (ECE), Foundational Literacy and Numeracy (FLN), STEM education, spoken English, computer literacy, and preparation for government exams — all under one roof.

Speaking at the inaugural event in Dhandabar, Mr. Ravish Sharma, Deputy CEO and Whole Time Director of ESL Steel Ltd., emphasized the transformative power of education. “Through Project Shiksha, we are committed to building inclusive platforms where every child, regardless of background, can access opportunities that shape a better future,” he said.

The initiative reflects ESL’s ongoing commitment to community development through quality education, aiming not just at academic support but also nurturing confident, future-ready individuals.

As part of its broader mission, Project Shiksha will establish a total of six Learning Resource Centres and provide operational support to 12 modernised Nandghars (upgraded Anganwadi centres). So far, the initiative has impacted 958 children, fostering foundational learning and overall development in underserved areas.

The launch marks a significant step in ESL Steel’s CSR journey, reinforcing its role in empowering rural youth and shaping the next generation through accessible, high-quality education.
