From Strike to Salute: PM Modi Visits Adampur Post-Terror Blitz

Adampur: In a powerful show of solidarity with the armed forces, Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited the Adampur Air Force Station in Punjab on Tuesday, days after the Indian Armed Forces launched Operation Sindoor, a high-intensity military response to the deadly Pahalgam terror attack.

Adampur, India’s second-largest air base located near Jalandhar, played a key role in the mission aimed at neutralizing terror infrastructure across the border in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK). The operation, conducted on May 7, was launched following the brutal killing of 26 Indian tourists at Baisaran Valley, popularly known as “India’s Switzerland.”

The Adampur air base, historically home to MiG-21 squadrons, now operates the Su-30MKI—one of the Indian Air Force’s most advanced multirole fighter jets. The base functions both as a strategic fighter hub and a training center, equipped with sophisticated maintenance and repair infrastructure.

During his visit, Prime Minister Modi interacted with air warriors and ground personnel, commending their courage and commitment. Sharing his experience on social media platform X, he wrote, “Earlier this morning, I went to AFS Adampur and met our brave air warriors and soldiers. It was a very special experience to be with those who epitomise courage, determination and fearlessness. India is eternally grateful to our armed forces for everything they do for our nation.”

The visit comes a day after Modi issued a stern warning to Pakistan over its continued support for cross-border terrorism, signaling India’s firm stance on national security.

Operation Sindoor marks a significant escalation in India’s counterterrorism strategy, showcasing the Air Force’s precision strike capabilities and reaffirming the government’s commitment to zero tolerance against terrorism.
