G7 Backs Israel, Labels Iran as Epicenter of Terror

Canada: In a strong show of solidarity with Israel amid rising regional tensions, the leaders of the Group of Seven (G7) nations have condemned Iran as the primary source of terrorism and instability in the Middle East. The joint declaration was made during the ongoing G7 Summit in Canada, which is also being attended by Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Releasing a unified statement, the G7 leaders reaffirmed their commitment to peace in the region but firmly backed Israel’s right to defend itself. “We, the leaders of the G7, reiterate our commitment to peace and stability in the Middle East. In this context, we affirm that Israel has a right to defend itself and we reiterate our support for the security of Israel,” the statement read.

The leaders also stressed the urgent need to protect civilians in the conflict zones and urged steps toward de-escalation. “We urge that the resolution of the Iranian crisis leads to a broader de-escalation of hostilities in the Middle East, including a ceasefire in Gaza,” the communiqué said.

However, the G7 took a firm stance on Iran, branding it as “the principal source of regional instability and terror.” The leaders reiterated their longstanding position that “Iran must never be allowed to acquire a nuclear weapon.”

Israeli Strike Eliminates Top Iranian Commander

Adding to the rapidly intensifying crisis, the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) on Tuesday claimed to have eliminated Iran’s top military figure, General Ali Shadmani — a man described as the closest military advisor to Supreme Leader Ayatollah Khamenei.

The IDF confirmed the killing in a post on X, saying, “For the second time in 5 days— the IDF has eliminated Iran’s War-Time Chief of Staff, the regime’s top military commander.”

Shadmani was reportedly killed in a targeted Israeli Air Force (IAF) strike deep inside Tehran, following what Israeli intelligence called “precise targeting based on real-time intelligence.”

The dramatic escalation — from diplomatic declarations to targeted assassinations — signals a new, volatile phase in the Israel-Iran conflict, with potential global ramifications as world powers take sides.
