Global Academic Collaboration: UK Educators Join DPS Chas to Transform Learning

Bokaro: In a major stride towards international academic collaboration and educational innovation, Delhi Public School (DPS), Chas, Bokaro has initiated a global knowledge exchange programme with renowned educators from Wales, UK.

This initiative marks a significant leap in the school’s mission to nurture global citizens with a forward-thinking and inclusive academic approach.

As part of this initiative, Nadine McKay, an acclaimed educator with over 20 years of experience in secondary and higher education, visited the school. Known for her contributions in curriculum development, teacher training, and environmentally focused education, McKay is currently pursuing a Ph.D. from Cardiff University, focusing on educational transformation and its societal impact—insights that promise to enrich both teachers and students at DPS Chas.

She is joined by Martin Matthews, a seasoned education leader with over 40 years of experience in schools across England and Wales.

As a motivational leadership coach, Matthews is working closely with the teaching staff to empower educators and foster a dynamic learning environment.

Adding youthful inspiration to the delegation is Oliver McKay, a recent A-Level graduate, former Head Boy, and Sports Ambassador from Wales. His visit is expected to energize student leadership initiatives and promote cross-cultural engagement among DPS Chas students.

This collaborative exchange aligns with the school’s vision of integrating the Panchpadi Teaching Model, a five-stage learning process aimed at promoting reflective, inquiry-based, and integrated education. The model is being implemented more meaningfully through this partnership, bridging local curriculum goals with global education practices.

Dr. Hemlata S. Mohan, Chief Mentor of the school, emphasized the importance of this exchange, stating that the capacity-building sessions will help teachers develop interdisciplinary approaches and socio-environmental perspectives, enabling students to connect academic learning with real-world issues.

Dr. Manisha Tiwari, Director and Principal of DPS Chas, added:  “This collaboration is not just about exchanging ideas—it’s a transformative initiative to build a learning environment where students develop global awareness, social responsibility, and innovative thinking.”

The sessions will focus on key educational themes such as the integration of subjects, nurturing critical thinking about past, present, and future education, and empowering students with a global mindset.

This international collaboration reinforces DPS Chas’s commitment to fostering excellence, innovation, and global understanding—true to its guiding principle that “the sky is the limit.”
