New Delhi: A 28-year-old health worker from Gujarat’s Kachchh district, Sahdev Singh Gohil, has been arrested by the state Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) for allegedly sharing sensitive information about Indian defence installations with a Pakistani agent over WhatsApp.
According to senior ATS officer K Siddharth, Gohil had been in contact since 2023 with a woman posing as “Aditi Bharadwaj.” He reportedly sent photos and videos of Indian Air Force (IAF) and Border Security Force (BSF) sites, including those under construction or recently completed.
Investigations revealed that Gohil used a SIM card linked to his Aadhaar to activate WhatsApp for the alias “Aditi Bharadwaj,” sharing classified material through this account. Forensic analysis confirmed the recipient numbers were operated from Pakistan.
Additionally, Gohil received Rs 40,000 in cash from an unidentified person, believed to be part of the espionage network. The arrest comes amid escalating India-Pakistan tensions following the recent terror attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, which claimed 26 lives.
