IIT-ISM Dhanbad Launches Short-Term Course on Blockchain and Cybersecurity Under MMTTP

Dhanbad: The Indian Institute of Technology (ISM), Dhanbad has launched a six-day short-term course titled “Blockchain and Cybersecurity for Cyber Threat Prevention”, under the Malaviya Mission Teacher Training Programme (MMTTP).

Running from July 7 to July 12, 2025, the course aims to equip participants with essential skills in two critical areas of digital security—Blockchain technology and Cybersecurity.

Inaugurated by senior faculty and coordinators including Prof. Dheeraj Kumar (Deputy Director), Prof. Mrinalini Pandey (MMTTP Coordinator), Prof. Pratho Partim Roy, and Prof. Arup Kumar Pal (Course Coordinator), the program drew 111 participants from across academia, industry, and research sectors.

Prof. Arup Kumar Pal emphasized the growing need for secure digital infrastructures, stating, “The integration of Blockchain’s tamper-proof architecture with advanced cybersecurity protocols is vital to protect sensitive data and digital assets from cyber threats.”

The course combines expert-led lectures with hands-on training in encryption, cryptography, and secure systems design, and is part of IIT (ISM)’s broader initiative to foster digital readiness and academic excellence across India.
