Dhanbad: IIT-ISM Dhanbad proudly announces the publication of the book “Introduction to Microwave Photonics”, co-authored by Professor Sanjeev Kumar Raghuwanshi from the Department of Electronics Engineering, along with Prof. Mandeep Singh, Dr. Ritesh Kumar, and Prof. Santosh Kumar. Released by the prestigious SPIE – the International Society for Optics and Photonics – the book is part of the renowned PM Series (PM363).
Microwave photonics, a rapidly advancing interdisciplinary field merging microwave engineering and photonics, is revolutionizing high-speed communications, radar systems, aerospace, defense, biomedical sensing, and signal processing. The book offers a deep dive into both theoretical principles and hands-on experimental techniques, covering topics such as arbitrary microwave waveform generation, fiber Bragg grating-based dispersion compensation, photonic sensor systems, beamforming, and photonic antenna excitation.
Prof. Raghuwanshi, a distinguished researcher with over 100 SCI journal publications, multiple patents, and several books, has long contributed to advancing optical sensors, fiber optics, and specialty photonic systems. His international achievements include the Erasmus Mundus Scholarship and the Best Research Award at IIT-ISM Dhanbad.
