India, Croatia Vow to Strengthen Trade, Build Resilient Supply Chains in High-Level Talks

News Desk: In a significant diplomatic engagement, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his Croatian counterpart Andrej Plenković held high-level delegation talks in Zagreb, aiming to boost bilateral trade, enhance strategic cooperation, and develop reliable global supply chains.

Following the discussions, both leaders issued a joint press statement from Baško Dovri, reaffirming their commitment to deepening India-Croatia ties across multiple sectors.

PM Modi emphasized the importance of peaceful conflict resolution, stating, “Whether in Europe or Asia, solutions cannot be found on the battlefield. Dialogue and diplomacy are the only viable paths forward.” He also stressed the need to respect the sovereignty and territorial integrity of all nations.

Addressing the global threat of terrorism, Modi called it the “enemy of humanity” and thanked the Croatian government for expressing solidarity and offering condolences following the April 22 terrorist attack in India.

Key Outcomes of the India-Croatia Dialogue:

  • Agreement to expand bilateral trade and build resilient supply chains

  • Enhanced cooperation in Pharmaceuticals, Agriculture, IT, Clean & Digital Technologies, Renewable Energy, and Semiconductors

  • Plans to deepen collaboration in shipbuilding and cybersecurity

  • Drafting of a long-term Defense Cooperation Plan, including joint training programs, defense industry collaboration, and military exchanges

PM Modi highlighted the democratic values that form the foundation of India-Croatia relations — pluralism, rule of law, and equality — and expressed confidence in the growing friendship based on shared ideals.

He also praised the growing popularity of yoga in Croatia, ahead of International Yoga Day on June 21, saying he was confident that the Croatian people would celebrate it with the same enthusiasm as in previous years.

The visit reaffirmed both nations’ shared commitment to global peace, democratic values, and mutual economic and technological progress, further cementing India-Croatia ties in the evolving global order.
