According to the Army, the partnership brings together the institution’s operational experience, IISc’s academic and scientific expertise, and the support of Indian industry to accelerate the creation of next-generation defence technologies.
The initiative is seen as a key step in strengthening India’s self-reliant defence ecosystem under the Atmanirbhar Bharat mission. It also reflects the Army’s growing focus on digital transformation, advanced analytics, and indigenous technological capability.
Defence experts believe that such collaborations will play a crucial role in preparing the Indian Army for future conflicts, where artificial intelligence will be central to decision-making, data security, and battlefield operations.
