Jharkhand Legislative Assembly Monsoon Session 2025: Prohibitory Zone Declared in Ranchi

Ranchi: In view of the upcoming monsoon session of the Jharkhand Legislative Assembly, the Ranchi district administration has imposed prohibitory orders within a 750-meter radius of the Assembly premises (New Vidhan Sabha), effective from 8:00 am on August 1 to 10:00 pm on August 7, 2025.

The order, issued jointly by the Deputy Commissioner-cum-District Magistrate and Additional District Magistrate (Law and Order), aims to ensure security and maintain public order during the session. Acting under Section 163 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS), the Sub-Divisional Magistrate, Sadar, Ranchi has enforced the following restrictions in the designated area, excluding the premises of the Jharkhand High Court:

  • No gathering of five or more persons (except for government officials, authorized programs, and funeral processions).

  • Ban on carrying firearms or explosives.

  • Prohibition on possession of sharp or traditional weapons such as sticks, axes, bows, arrows, etc.

  • No protests, rallies, processions, sit-ins, or public meetings allowed.

  • Ban on use of loudspeakers (except for official purposes).

The restrictions are intended to prevent any law and order disruption during the Assembly session and will remain in force until the conclusion of the proceedings on August 7.
