Kumar Amit Meets Governor, Demands Early Operation of Bokaro Airport and Public Welfare Initiatives

Ranchi: BJP State Working Committee member Kumar Amit met Jharkhand Governor Santosh Gangwar at Raj Bhavan in Ranchi, urging him to take immediate steps for starting operations at the newly built Bokaro Airport.

During the meeting, Kumar Amit submitted an 11-point memorandum highlighting several public welfare issues.

He expressed concern over the state government’s inaction regarding the airport and explained how the delay is affecting the public. He also discussed the incomplete implementation of the Nal Jal Yojana in rural areas of Bokaro and other districts due to financial constraints.

Kumar Amit brought attention to rising tensions caused by land encroachments around graveyards, which, he said, could lead to communal unrest if not addressed properly.

He requested that the government provide 50% duty reservation for women in Home Guard services and also consider deploying Home Guard personnel for traffic management and security in government, semi-government, and private institutions.

Kumar also proposed that interfaith marriages should require permission from the District Magistrate to prevent potential misuse.

Further, he urged the Governor to expedite municipal elections in the state, grant panchayat status to twenty displaced villages in Bokaro affected by SAIL, and create new administrative blocks, including one in Pindrajoda. He also demanded irrigation facilities in Chas block’s Ghatiyali, Sonabad, Chakulia, and Sunta panchayats through a canal from the Izri River. Lastly, he called for the construction of an ESI hospital in Bokaro for contract workers.

The Governor listened attentively to all the points and assured Kumar Amit that he would look into the issues seriously and take necessary action.
