New Delhi : Both Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha were adjourned till 12 noon on Monday following loud protests and slogan-shouting by opposition members over multiple issues.
The Lok Sabha session began at 11 AM with tributes to eight former MPs. The House also observed silence and expressed condolences for the victims of the recent Pahalgam terrorist attack and the Air India AI-171 plane crash. Lawmakers further mourned the loss of lives and property caused by natural calamities across several states.
In a moment of national pride, Speaker Om Birla and MPs congratulated Group Captain Subhanshu Shukla for his successful mission to the International Space Station, marking a significant milestone for India’s space achievements.
However, as soon as the Question Hour commenced, members from the Congress, Samajwadi Party, DMK, and other opposition parties raised slogans and disrupted proceedings. A similar ruckus was witnessed in the Rajya Sabha, forcing the presiding officers to adjourn both Houses until noon.
The repeated disruptions hint at a stormy session ahead, with the opposition likely to intensify pressure on the government over key issues.
