Massive Fire at Dubai Marina High-Rise Doused After 6-Hour Operation, No Casualties

Dubai: A major fire that broke out late Friday night in the 67-storey Marina Pinnacle tower, also known as Tiger Tower, in Dubai Marina, was brought under control after a six-hour firefighting operation, according to Khaleej Times.

The Dubai Media Office (DMO) confirmed that 3,820 residents from 764 apartments were safely evacuated with no injuries, crediting the swift action of Dubai Civil Defence and emergency teams. Authorities lauded the effective implementation of evacuation and emergency protocols.

As of early Saturday, cooling operations were still underway, with smoke lingering above the high-rise. Officials reassured the public that the situation was fully under control.

Authorities are now coordinating with the building’s developer to arrange temporary housing for affected residents, underscoring that their safety and well-being remain a priority.

The exact cause of the blaze is still under investigation. Notably, Marina Pinnacle experienced a previous fire in 2015, and is located near The Torch Tower, which suffered fires in both 2015 and 2017.

Despite the scale of the emergency and the tower’s fire history, no casualties or injuries were reported.
