Modi Slams RJD-Congress in Motihari Rally, Promises ‘Viksit Bihar’

Motihari: Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched a fierce attack on the RJD and Congress during a high-voltage rally in Motihari, accusing both parties of dynastic politics and hypocrisy over the issues of Dalits, backward classes, and the poor.

Modi alleged that while the opposition parties claim to champion the cause of the marginalized, they fail to respect or uplift anyone outside their own families. “They do politics in the name of the poor, but can’t even give respect to people beyond their lineage. Bihar must be saved from their bad intentions,” the PM said, citing a recent incident where RJD leader Lalu Prasad’s supporter placed Ambedkar’s portrait near his feet.

He avoided engaging with opposition criticism over the state’s electoral roll revision but slammed the previous UPA regime for allegedly starving Bihar of central funds. “When Congress was in power, Bihar received just ₹2 lakh crore. After NDA took charge in 2014, central support surged,” he said.

Highlighting NDA’s developmental push, Modi cited the rise in makhana prices and the formation of a Makhana Board as proof of connecting local farmers to national markets. “Bihar lacks neither capability nor resources. We must turn it into an eastern powerhouse,” he added.

He envisioned a future where cities like Motihari, Gaya, Patna, and Jalpaiguri rival Mumbai, Gurugram, Pune, and Jaipur in development, tourism, and opportunity. “This is the era of Eastern India. To strengthen India, we must build a Viksit Bihar,” Modi declared.

Modi also praised Chief Minister Nitish Kumar’s efforts in job creation and youth empowerment, supported by central schemes like Mudra Yojana.

This marks Modi’s 53rd visit to Bihar since 2014 and his third in 45 days. Earlier in the day, he laid the foundation stone and inaugurated development projects worth over ₹7,200 crore.
