New Delhi: The nation on Wednesday remembered Bharat Ratna and former President Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam on his birth anniversary, honouring the “People’s President” whose vision continues to inspire generations.
President Droupadi Murmu, Vice President C.P. Radhakrishnan, and Prime Minister Narendra Modi paid heartfelt tributes to the eminent scientist and statesman.
Vice President Radhakrishnan hailed Dr. Kalam as a “visionary scientist, inspiring leader, and true patriot”, noting that his humility, compassion, and close bond with students made him a beloved figure across age groups. “Through his words and actions, he motivated young minds to dream big and work tirelessly for the nation,” he said, adding that Dr. Kalam’s legacy in defence research, science, and youth empowerment paved India’s road to self-reliance.
Prime Minister Modi, in his message, described Dr. Kalam as “a visionary who ignited young minds and inspired the nation to dream big.” He said Kalam’s life stands as a reminder that humility and hard work are the keys to success. “We remain committed to building the strong, self-reliant and compassionate India he envisioned,” the Prime Minister added.
