Patna: The NDA on Sunday urged the Election Commission to take immediate cognizance of Leader of Opposition Tejashwi Yadav allegedly possessing two voter ID cards with different EPIC numbers — a violation of electoral laws.
NDA leaders demanded a thorough probe and filing of an FIR against Yadav, calling it a serious electoral fraud.
Addressing a press conference, BJP’s national spokesperson Ajay Alok, JD(U)’s chief spokesperson Neeraj Kumar, LJP (Ram Vilas) leader Rajesh Bhatt, HAM’s Shyam Sundar, and Rashtriya Lok Morcha’s Nitin Bharti questioned the legality of Yadav’s dual EPICs. “How can someone who doesn’t trust their own identity lead the public?” they asked.
The NDA alleged that this is the eighth scam linked to Tejashwi Yadav, adding that the addresses in both voter IDs are different, making it not just a technical error but a criminal offense. They labeled Yadav a “political fraud” and accused him of following in the footsteps of his father, Lalu Prasad Yadav, a convicted leader.
The NDA also slammed the INDI alliance, claiming its leaders were repeatedly disrespecting constitutional institutions and attempting to create political instability. “Even if RJD supports such leadership, the people of Bihar will not accept it,” NDA leaders asserted.
They concluded by demanding a full investigation by the Election Commission and strict legal action against Tejashwi Yadav.
