Ranchi: A chilling threat targeting a judge of the National Investigation Agency (NIA) court, in Jharkhand has surfaced, prompting swift action by law enforcement. The anonymous letter, received via speed post and discovered on April 11, hinted at an attack on the judge and a planned jailbreak to free jailed Naxalite leaders Sheela Marandi and Prashant Bose.
According to the sources, the threatening letter was cleverly concealed within two envelopes, each bearing different sender names and addresses. A mobile number—9264473891—was noted on the inner envelope and has been traced to a “Rahul” associated with the JCECE Board in Ranchi.
The contents of the letter suggested that a shooter had been paid to execute the plan and mentioned an individual named Arun Kumar in connection with the conspiracy. Senders identified on the envelopes include Anamika Enterprises Pvt. Ltd., based in Khelgaon, and Saket Tirki from Karra in Khunti district.
In response, an FIR has been lodged at Ranchi’s Kotwali police station. The police are actively investigating all leads to identify those behind the threat and ensure the safety of judicial personnel.
