Over 74,000 Bihar Farmers to Receive PM-KISAN Funds Today

Patna : The 20th installment of the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN) scheme will be transferred today to the bank accounts of over 74,000 farmers in Bihar during the PM Kisan Utsav Diwas event in Patna.

Deputy Chief Minister and Agriculture Minister Vijay Kumar Sinha announced that Prime Minister Narendra Modi will release the funds online from Varanasi. The event will see participation from more than 5,000 farmers, Krishi Vigyan Kendra scientists, agriculture officials, and Krishak Mitras from all 38 districts of the state.

Sinha highlighted that the scheme has so far benefited over 73.88 lakh farmers in Bihar, significantly contributing to their economic stability by directly crediting funds into their bank accounts.

He also mentioned that the proposed Makhana Board would receive special attention at the event, aiming to give global recognition to Makhana farmers in Mithilaanchal.

Key agricultural initiatives like crop diversification, water conservation, agricultural mechanization, and rural infrastructure will also be showcased, promoting Bihar’s march towards a modern and self-reliant agriculture model.
